Introduction Post

Hello there. I am so excited to be starting this blog! After quite the preparation, I'm finally able to begin! First, who am I?

Who I am

They call me Shadow, and I'm here to show you how to shine bright for Jesus in this not-so-bright world, with the Bible as our theme and guide. I say the Bible as our theme and guide because I'm not perfect. I could never say the right things without the help of God and His Word.

Shine Bright's Theme

The theme verse of Shine Bright is Luke 6:16, which is, "No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand so that all who enter may see the light." God is pretty much commanding us to shine bright in His world. We shouldn't be afraid, but should be courageous and always be glad to tell others about Jesus.

Why "Shine Bright"?

I know how hard it is to shine bright for Jesus in a world that doesn't want you to shed that amazing light or learn about Jesus and His love. I began to ponder how I could shine bright and tell others about Jesus in a dark world and I came to the conclusion that I could make a difference in very small ways. Holding the door open for someone, honoring my parents, and even something as small as smiling at someone, made a difference. I decided that I wanted to share that with other girls and now I am starting a blog. That is how Shine Bright came to be.

How

We'll be looking at different ways to shine bright and keep our lights burning for all to see over the weeks through devotions, reading plans, stories, and more. I'm hoping to post four different things a month. I'm going for a story, a devotion, and something extra, like a reading plan, book suggestion, or study guide, per month.

My biggest goal and prayer concerning this blog, is that I will help you learn more about Jesus, draw you closer to Him, and encourage you to live boldly, shining His light brightly for all to see. Welcome to Shine Bright.
